HOKKAIDO 2018

Happy 2018 everyone!

On the last day of 2017, I jetted off with Hans & his parents to Hokkaido, the trip we were so looking forward to, because SNOW ❆
My last encounter with snow was probably when i was in primary school? The trip which grandma brought me along.

First 2 days were spent in Otaru, this little town nest slightly away from Sapporo.
Human traffic was minimal, love how quiet the town was and how we could have the surroundings to ourselves.
Winter nights came as early as 4.30pm and it felt like we had so much time till it was bedtime.
Places were all within walking distance and food were FRESH!

Day 2 & 3 we were back in Sapporo, the bustling town of Hokkaido.
One thing for sure, the crowd is lesser in comparison to Osaka, much less Tokyo.
And, we encountered full snow on day 3!
It was so cold, but so fun and so pretty to watch.
Believe it or not, Hans and i literally stuck out our tongues, trying to catch the snow flakes that were falling.
Went up to Mount Moiwa and caught a glimpse of the mesmerizing town lights, i think the temperature was like -2°C.

Morning of day 4 we moved to Asahikawa, another quiet town in Hokkaido.
The train ride out was quite an eye opener, the land, roofs and trees were all covered with the white snow, and it was such an amazing sight.
We headed to the Arashiyama Zoo after settling down, and love every minute there!
We witnessed the penguins march, saw snow owl, reindeer and so many more.
But Hans was down with a fever that very night, thankfully it went away the next day before we headed to Ramen Village.
The night ended off with a local yakitori dinner, ice cream and snow ⛄

Day 6 we moved back to Sapporo, had buffet for lunch and visited the Ishiya Chocolate Factory.
It felt like we just stepped into a Wonderland, the fairy lights were too too pretty!
Wanted to enter Asahi Beer Factory too but it was only on reservation basis, so it was a pity for that.
Just the day before we fly back to Singapore, we went to Takino Suzuran Hillside Park.
No skiing as we went a little late but we tried snow tubing!

It was a great start to my 2018 and I would love to go back Hokkaido again and again.
Japan will always be a place i hold close to me.
Thank you for being so amazing again.

CHRISTMAS 2017

Christmas brunch with the girls as part of our yearly affair @ Firebake this year.
We practically spent half of our lives together and it's good having them around.
Our agenda up next: planning for HK!

And here's a little something with the family yesterday.
And one with Hans's family on the eve of Christmas.
This year's Christmas was one I looked forward to the most as compared to every other years.
Like they say, as you grow older, you hold things dear to you closer to you.

Last week till the end of the year, and each year it's passing by quicker than the last.
And up till this point in time, 2017 has been pretty awesome for me.
I am counting all my blessings and should feel very contented.
The best choice I have made? I shall keep it to myself for now.

Hokkaido this week and i will check in here again next year.
Till then ~

LAST JB FOR 2017

Exams are finally over and well, it was horrible.
At least it's over, for now.

JB today with Hans as requested but the jam was literally no joke.
F I v e h o u r s - that's how long we were stuck!
Nonetheless, thank you so much for giving in to me and still agree to drive me in.
JWC must be our all time favourite, and their tiramisu never fails.

This short getaway meant so much to me, especially after a tough paper.
A busy 2 weeks coming up leading to Christmas then Hokkaido!
Super excited to see the snow and my Instagram's flooded with people in Japan haha.

Wait for me, my favourite country 🏯
