SATURDAY

 Saturday's finally here, was looking forward to it though it didn't turn out too well to start the day.
All is good i guess, just hope it'll be etched deeply in my mind.
Clover was being naughty today again, and one new thing happened, her tooth dropped!
You're growing up too fast Clover ~

Oh, Hans and i collected one of the popular home baker cupcakes today: Nasi Lemak cupcakes!
Was so tempted by the name of it i had to try some.
 Unique as it sounds, the taste was pretty interesting too!
Lucky for the 1-for-1 promo i got it at a decent price.
It then got me thinking how i can also cater to the local taste hmmmm.
On a side note, Crumb Bites has launched a new bake today!
The classic Pandan Layer Cake, and responses were good too!

School has been pretty much the same, counting down (not) to one more month before exams.
Truth is, i'm pretty scared.
No backing out from here, i can only pass this.

Grandpa is recovering well but i think i jeopardized his healing process when i offered him the Nasi Lemak cupcake earlier.
The sambal inside got him coughing again, which made me REALLY guilty :( 
Sincerely hope he'll recover soon, and that Grandma will watch over him from above.
(Miss you a lot too Grandma, thanks for letting me dream of you the other day :') )

APRIL'16

Second day into the first week of April.
Been pretty busy recently but things are getting me going, so i guess it isn't that bad.
Meeting up with people i've missed, slowly getting back my baking touch, discussing about future plans and trying to spend more time outdoors as much as possible.
Over the weekends, you know what happened with the photo above!
First attempt on Chocolate Banana Cake and it's not the best yet.
Gonna keep trying, so please stay with Crumb Bites :)

Things are definitely a lot different now without grandma around, and i'm still not used to it, the family too.
Visited her niche yesterday and... miss you grandma..

DECEMBER

Just some swiss roll mum & i did over the week.
Log cake orders on Crumb Bites are coming in fast and i'm really glad to be this busy. 
It's really not easy to start this business and hopefully i'm able to sustain it!!

Anyway, it's already towards the end of the month and so much as happened this year.
Changes and adaptation.
Upcoming days might not be easy but i will get through it i'm sure, somehow.
And for now, i cannot wait for 2 things:
- Bkk trip with the family
- Hans's short return in Jan

December, please be a good month to close the year

OCT ~ NOV

It was definitely an overwhelming week for me, with 3 big parties/celebration.
Nonetheless, I'm so glad I (Crumb Bites) could be part of these events!
 Momsie's birthday on Friday, and I made her a Coffee walnut cake.
Wasn't sure at all how this will turn out with the family but the response was good I was so super touched!
Happy to see mom enjoying herself on this very big day of hers and that everyone, well almost all, could be here with her.
 & yesterday was Clement's birthday surprise!
So everyone knew about this whole plan except for the birthday boy, and his expression when he entered the chalet was priceless <:
Red velvet 9" cake for the birthday boy!

And today was the full month celebration of Wanyi's baby boy, Tyler!
He was so adorable and fun to be with, and I'm so happy to see our new mummy here doing all fine.
It definitely put my mind at ease seeing them 2 handling everything well.
Proud of you babe!
On a side note, I've had for them a tier of red velvet and a tier of oreo cupcakes ~

So super glad everything ended on a positive note, and it's the start of November already!
Now it's down to 5 more days till i fly over and hug Hans hehe.
Can't wait to reunite with him again, it's probably been too long we've been apart but i guess we really really learn a lot from his trip this time round, and i'm glad he made this right choice.

SATAY BY THE BAY X BAKES




And so over the weekends, friends came over to my place so mum and i baked some food for them.
Was a tiring but fun fulfilling weekend tho.
Oh and I visited Satay by the bay with my family!
The place pretty much look like it’s still renovating and the food was hmm, normal. Lagoon’s much better!
But glad I managed to spend quality time with the people around me.

For now, it’s 9 more days to visiting Hans!
My return flight got cancelled and was rescheduled to a day later (which means one more day with Hans!), I think even Cebu Pacific knows I wanna stay longer hehe ~

WEEK 41

 Office party on Friday for our moving in which actually happened about a month ago.
With a lil contribution from everyone, the food was (Y)
 & fruit basket today was a success!

MOONCAKE FESTIVE



So the mooncake festival is just around the corner, mum & I decided to attend mooncake lessons!

For now, I’m super glad that both air tickets and accommodation are checked.
And all I have to do now is to wait for the arrival of November!
However today HDB decided to push back the September BTO launch to November without any warning, and this was what I have been looking forward to so much the past months >;

Well, November is gonna be an exciting month, at least for me ~

BACK TO KITCHEN

& i'm finally back to the kitchen, getting all hands on again.
This week i retry my attempt on Speculoos Cupcake ↑
And this will be on Crumb Bites's this week launch (tomorrow!)
I really want this week to fly pass as soon as possible..

↓ Hans started his 1st day of work in Manila today and i was so happy everything went well.
At least it got him really occupied.

EMOTIONS


 Over at work last week, we celebrated the June babies' birthdays with a surprise even our boss didn't expected, it was a success. 
Well work has been pretty much the same, with me going over everyday not really knowing what's the aim I have or should have. 
& over the weekends, I've tried out several types of pastries (as you all know I'm starting an online bakery) and definitely, there were major setbacks which kinda struck me hard.
Perfectionist; that's what Hans always use to describe me, and slowly, I realise I'm unknowingly becoming one. 
We fall, and we learn, it is easier said than done and to me, that's even more true. 

For now, I just can't wait for my getaway, which I really need it so much so much. 
& for sure, this perfectionist in me will have to be a little more discreet now.

ITS GONNA BE GOOD


The only thing i always look forward to: Weekends ~
So it wasn't too bad for me, meeting up with the usual at Horizon Bistronomy with a pretty night view.
As well as trying out new bakes!


With the heart of wanting to get the online bakery going, i felt i have so little time for too much things.
Just a little bit more, and i hope i'll be where i wanna be. 
Fighting!

Oh, & counting down to 10 more days, it's gonna be a good one, i know for sure.

Well, March is coming to an end and indeed, it has been pretty fruitful for me this month. 
Being able to learn and bake these delish cakes gave me a lot of encouragement as well as new found goal, well probably in life.

BAKES

So mummy and i attended another baking class with her current favourite teacher.
Black Forest Cake was the theme last night.
I must say it was really interesting cos i never knew it could be that simple, and the whole piping was so much fun!
Hehe now i'm cracking ideas for Hans's upcoming birthday cake ^^

Spending the last Saturday of 2014 in school, which is still one of my favourite place to be, honestly.
2014 is slipping pass us too quickly.
Can time slow down, just a lil bit?

Momsie & I signed up for another baking class and its Traditional Swiss Roll this time round!
It may look simple but it really require a lot of techniques.
And so its another item down our list, definitely more to improve but it was truly an experience.

NOVEMBER


 Visited our officer @ OCS with mummy & Caly.
Weather these days are definitely unbearable but the whole journey inside wasn't too bad at all.
Proud of him for sure, as always.



& today, accompanied mummy for baking lesson @ The White Ombre for some cake pops!
Looks pretty cute and it taste legit too!
Lessons like these can be quite fun and it reminds me of my F&N classes back in secondary school, those were the days. 

My November started off pretty well with all the loved ones around me, even though there may be some downs right now, but all of us will still brave through this I'm sure. 
At least for now, the house is filled with warmth.

mooooooookata

 Finally took some time out to update this space of mine.
Felt that time is super tight nowadays due to so many things happening at one go.
School → Exams → Work → CNY → Holiday → School → Exams
Sometimes despite all these happening, I'm quite glad I have Hans to turn to even though there might be ups & downs going on between us in the midst.
Well anyway, school was okay and so glad I managed to clear the amount of FR work I was suppose to!
Hans then brought me to have Mooooookata for dinner and I quite like the idea of it!
Not too bad for the first try!
Price was reasonable and food tasted okay (Now i sound like a food critic haha) 
We do need to enjoy at times too even though there are so many things waiting for us, don't we?

Oh, and baked these Almond Cookies with mummy last night cos CNY is approaching!
Though the festive mood this year isn't really there (in general), I'm still kinda looking forward to it, prolly cos it'll take my mind of studies & stuff for awhile, which is what I really need right now.
[On a side note, it's still scary how it's already ¾ of the month gone and I still don't know what I'm doing with life ;<]
Alright then, time to get going on a lil more work before rest time!

chinese treats



Chirstmasy feeling all over the airport tis season and i can't wait for x'mas to come! 
& anyway!
店小二 treat from the boyf (hmmm technically UOL cos he earned the £100 from the academic excellence but its still the thoughts that count!) before study session @ the airport commences.
Thou they don't have those funky displays like cafes have but I really love their traditional chinese dishes.
Its so slurppsssssss <:
Thank you once again Hans! 

& i decided to bake sone muffins yesterday cos i was bored at home.
Will keep improving!

shine bright like a diamond

TGIF!
Stayed home to bake some butter muffins + cakes as gifts <:

Met up with Carol & Terry for dinner/supper @ Dunman Food Center (due to the thundery showers).
Parking was horrible cos firstly, it was SUPER hard to find one and secondly, both the parking for the day were parallel (Really testing me) >: 
Frog Porridge was love thou!
Dessert afterwards at Chezcake Bistro and I've been wanting to try this for a long time!
So lucky it was near the food center and have no trouble finding it.

Really enjoyed myself and that's to the last day of May.
Cycling date with Hans tomorrow and I can't wait!
